Job Description
Talbert House, a social service agency that provides mental health, substance abuse, community corrections, and welfare-to-work services throughout the Greater Cincinnati region, is seeking a Legal Services Coordinator for its Fatherhood Services program in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position is full-time, first and second shift; work days are Monday-Friday and an occasional Saturday. The successful candidate will demonstrates knowledge of Ohio procedural and substantive law; provide assessment of clients’ needs as related to legal services and parenting education and support, conducts legal research relative to clients’ individual circumstances, advocates for clients to secure necessary services and remove employment and parenting barriers by preparing and submitting legal documents and representing clients in court, assists case managers in filing motions on behalf of program clients, co-facilitates Nurturing Fathers curriculum and demonstrates ability to use clinical information to provide case management/fatherhood coaching.

The position requirements are a Juris Doctorate (JD), admitted to the Practice of Law in the State of Ohio, a valid Driver's License, and computer skills. Two years of experience practicing family and criminal law is preferred. Also requires successful completion of Clinical Assessment Tracking and Triage [CATT] training within first eight (8) weeks of hire, unless otherwise noted. (CATT training is a course in using computers for clinical documentation.). The successful candidate must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions, update computer records and files, recognize unusual or threatening situations and take action and be adaptive and flexible to the needs of the clientele and the program.
